BLEU BLANC BOUGE at Camp

You can be active during summer too!

Created in 2017 in collaboration with the Association des Camps du Québec and the P’tit Bonheur de sablon, the  BLEU BLANC BOUGE camp allows 5th– and 6th-grade children from the Greater Montreal area to experience the magic of a one-week stay at a sleepaway camp for the very first time.

Over the years, 515 youth from 18 schools from our BLEU BLANC BOUGE communities have had the chance to enjoy a memorable stay in nature! 86% of our campers had never been to a summer  camp before.

The Foundation works in collaboration with teachers from schools in disadvantaged areas to select students for whom such an experience could be beneficial and who wouldn’t have the means to attend summer camp otherwise. For some, their stay at camp rewards them for their academic perseverance, exemplary leadership, or remarkable improvement in their behavior during the school year. Other students are chosen so they can benefit from a positive and significant experience after having overcome difficult challenges.

Shortly after the end of classes, the kids leave their urban living environment to go to the P’tit Bonheur de sablon camp in the Laurentians. Upon arrival, they discover the beauties of nature and quickly engage in outdoor activities. Throughout their stay, they learn about community living and develop multiple social skills that promote their autonomy, self-esteem, sense of personal pride, and overall growth. Moreover, the P’tit Bonheur de sablon works in collaboration with Tremplin Santé to create menus that offer healthy and balanced meals to all campers.

“I was so happy and excited to be able to participate. As the days passed, I crossed them off on my calendar to see how many days were left before going to camp.” Alissa, an 11-year-old student from L’Eau-Vive elementary school
