Annual event has collected over $12.2 million to benefit underprivileged youth since 2000

MONTREAL – The 50th edition of the Canadiens Golf Tournament, presented by Bell, was a resounding success on Monday, September 14, at Club-Laval-sur-le-Lac, raising a record $871,866 in support of the Montreal Canadiens Children's Foundation.

Each year, the Canadiens Golf Tournament brings together players, coaches, management, and alumni to mark the official start of hockey season. For this milestone edition, partners, guests and volunteers once again joined forces to support children in need.

The funds raised will help the Foundation continue its mission of providing underprivileged children with opportunities to move, play and thrive thanks to sports and active leisure over the coming year. A portion of the proceeds will go toward the construction of the next two Bleu Blanc Bouge rinks, in Sorel-Tracy and Salaberry-de-Valleyfield, both of which are scheduled to open this winter. Additional funds will help provide essential financial support to organizations that promote physical activity among vulnerable youth across Quebec.

In addition to Bell, which has served as the Tournament’s presenting partner for the past 11 years, the Montreal Canadiens and the Foundation would like to extend their warmest thanks to Air Canada, Birkenstock, BRP, CIBC, Desjardins Securities, Ford Canada, Manmade, Mondelēz Canada, RBC, Solotech, and Yeti, the principal partners of this 50th edition, as well as all sponsors and in-kind donors who contributed to the success of this fundraising event.

Since 2000, the Canadiens Golf Tournament has raised over $12.2 million in support of the Montreal Canadiens Children's Foundation.

About the Montreal Canadiens Children's Foundation

The Montreal Canadiens Children's Foundation is a non-profit organization that encourages physical activity and the adoption of a healthy lifestyle among underprivileged youth aged 4 to 17 years old. Since its inception in 2000, the Foundation has invested over $57.6 million in the community. The Foundation fulfills its mandate in two ways: first, through a unique flagship project – the Bleu Blanc Bouge program – which consists of building and activating community refrigerated and multisport rinks; secondly, by providing financial support to more than 1,000 charitable endeavors, working for the well-being of the most vulnerable children across the province of Quebec, whose projects and programs enable children to adopt healthy lifestyles by being more active.
