Supporting organizations that get kids moving
Each year, the Montreal Canadiens Children's Foundation supports organizations in their efforts to get children to be more active. Its reach extends across Quebec. By contributing financially to the implementation of programs that encourage vulnerable youth aged 4 to 17 to adopt an active lifestyle, the Foundation acts as a catalyst for impactful projects that help build more active, healthy, and inclusive communities.
Since its creation in 2000, the Montreal Canadiens Children's Foundation has awarded $22 million to more than 1,000 charities working for the well-being of underprivileged children across Quebec.
Our mandate
The Donations Program aims to provide financial support to community organizations throughout Quebec, in order to get youth active through projects and programs aligned with the Foundation's mission.
We support initiatives that improve access to sports and active recreational activities and target a clientele similar to ours: vulnerable children and teenagers aged 4 to 17.

Initiatives we support
We support projects that promote the adoption and maintenance of healthy lifestyle habits through physical activity, over the course of several weeks, months, or year-round.
Projects must:
- Have a direct and significant impact on a large number of disadvantaged youth aged 4 to 17;
- Implement preventive strategies addressing a priority need in an underserved youth community;
- Present a clear, structured action plan with measurable results.
Types of projects that may receive funding
Examples of requests that may qualifify for support through the Donations Program:
- Fund the purchase of various sports equipment (skates, balls, rackets, skateboards, etc.);
- Offer free registration to day camps for children from disadvantaged backgrounds or with special needs;
- Contribute to the purchase of equipment for the development of inclusive playgrounds, fun motor skills courses, or obstacle courses;
- Support the implementation or provision of community-based sports, recreation, and outdoor programs that emphasize on participation, not competition.

Apply for a grant
