Mission

By uniting the members of the great Canadiens family and by teaming up with the community, the Foundation encourages physical activity and the adoption of a healthy lifestyle among underprivileged youth from 4 to 17 years old. The Foundation acts as a catalyst for social change by creating environments and opportunities that encourage discovery, perseverance, and the joy of being active.

Vision

The Montreal Canadiens Children's Foundation aspires to offer a better and healthier future to underprivileged children in Quebec. It aims to contribute to making Quebec a province where every child can thrive through the power of sport and inspire an active and confident generation for whom being active becomes a source of health and pride.

Our values

Our actions are based on strong values that guide each of our decisions and initiatives. They reflect our way of collaborating, supporting, and inspiring the children we wish to help.

Too many children do not have access to the benefits of physical activity. Yet, just one hour of activity per day is enough to improve physical health, concentration, self-esteem, and the ability to collaborate.

  • 39%

Only 39% of children in Canada get enough exercise every day.

  • 2X

Youth from low-income families are twice as likely to suffer from overweight or motor delays.

  • 1/3

A third of children give up sport during adolescence.

GLACE

Our work

Since its creation, the Foundation has multiplied initiatives to make sport and active leisure accessible and for the well-being of children.

15 Bleu Blanc Bouge rinks built and more coming.

We have invested over 54.4 million dollars in initiatives all across Quebec.

More than 900 charitable organizations that get our youth active supported.

Bleu Blanc Bouge

The Bleu Blanc Bouge program is at the heart of the Foundation's activities. Our flagship program comes to life with the legacy of outdoor, refrigerated, multi-sport rinks built in various regions of Quebec. These rinks serve as active gathering places, allowing children and families to be active and participate in a variety of sports, all year long. With the accompanying sports equipment and resources made available to the community, they offer local stakeholders a multitude of opportunities for discovering and participating in sports and leisure activites.
