$5,000 bursaries to get youth moving this winter

The Bleu Blanc Bouge Bursaries, presented by the Montreal Canadiens Children’s Foundation in collaboration with the Grand défi Pierre Lavoie, are back! Schools in underserved communities have until October 8, 2026, to submit their projects.
To help make physical activity more accessible and get more youth active, the Montreal Canadiens Children’s Foundation and the Grand défi Pierre Lavoie are once again joining forces to provide financial support to underprivileged schools that wish to organize active outings for their students this winter.
Teachers and school support staff who commit to using the new Resource Hub to organize learn-to-skate sessions can submit an application for a chance to receive a $5,000 bursary.
This funding can be used to:
- purchase skates, helmets, sticks and other equipment to facilitate the learning of ice skating sports;
- cover transportation costs to bring students to the rink;
- hire staff to supervise and coach on-ice activities.
Submit your project by October 8
Eligible elementary and secondary schools in underserved communities have until October 8, 2026, to submit their project by completing the application form. You must first create an account and log in to the Resource Hub to access the form.
A new hub, the same great resources!
Content from the former Bleu Blanc Bouge Skills platform is now available in the new Resource Hub, directly on the Foundation’s website. Six-lesson teaching plans, learn-to-skate and ball hockey modules, practical tips and tools to help you implement the programs in your school: everything is now available in one place, free of charge.
Were you a member of the former platform? Since this is a new portal, you will simply need to create a new account to access the educational resources.
Thanks to your commitment, more kids will be able to discover the joy of being active, develop their skills and enjoy physical activities in their community.
Good luck to all participating schools, and happy skating!
