FAQ - Grants
The grant program aims to provide financial support to organizations across Quebec, helping children to be more active through projects and programs aligned with the Foundation’s mission.
We support initiatives that promote better access to sports and leisure activities for a clientele similar to our own: vulnerable children and teenagers aged 4 to 17.
Eligible organizations
To be eligible, the project must be submitted by an organization that meets the following criteria:
- Be a private, non-profit organization (NPO);
- Be registered as a charity and have a valid registration number issued by the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA);
- Be able to issue a charitable donation receipt for the full amount of the donation;
- Offer its activities and services in Quebec;
- Demonstrate sound and ongoing management, with financial statements that comply with recognized accounting standards;
- Have an established board of directors and clear internal governance and administrative bylaws.
A school can apply for a grant if, in addition to meeting the general requirements, it meets the following conditions:
- Be a public elementary or secondary school in Quebec;
- Have a socio-economic status (IMSE index) or low-income threshold (SFR index) rating of 8, 9, or 10;

- Private foundations;
- Religious, political, or international organizations;
- Early childhood centres (CPE).
Supported initiatives
The Foundation supports projects that:
- Promote the adoption and maintenance of a healthy lifestyle through physical activity and that take place over several weeks, months, or a year;
- Implement preventative intervention strategies and address a priority need within a vulnerable youth community;
- Have a direct and significant impact on a large number of disadvantaged youth aged 4 to 17;
- Present a clear and structured action plan and measurable outcomes;
- Clearly indicate how the requested amount from the Foundation will be used.
The Foundation supports concrete projects that allow disadvantaged youth to be active, play, and thrive through physical activity.
Here are some examples of projects that have recently received support:
- Funding the purchase of various sports equipment (skates, balls, rackets, skateboards, bikes, etc.);
- Offering free day camp registration to children from disadvantaged backgrounds or with special needs;

Without this report, no new application from your organization will be considered.
Applications must be submitted between September 1 and November 30 of each year. Projects received after this date will not be considered for the current year.
Applications are then evaluated by the Foundation's Grants Committee, and the selected projects are announced the following spring. Funding is also disbursed to the organizations in the spring.
There is no predetermined minimum or maximum amount. Funding awarded varies depending on the nature and scope of the project, the budget presented in the application, and the Foundation's available funds for the current grant period.
Selected projects
All applications received are evaluated by the Grants Committee, composed of Foundation directors and management members, according to specific criteria, including:
- Direct impact on a significant number of children aged 4 to 17;
- The ability to meet a real need in the community;
- The measurable and lasting impact on physical activity and the adoption of a healthy lifestyle;
- The relevance and quality of the proposed action plan;
- The diversification of funding sources;
- The optimal use of volunteer work.
After the Foundation's Grants Committee reviews the application, the amount allocated may be equal to or less than the amount requested. This is determined based on priorities, other sources of project funding, the project's scope, and the Foundation's funds available for the current grant period.
Organizations are notified of the Foundation's decision in the spring following the close of the project review period.
All applicant organizations, whether their project is selected or not, receive written confirmation specifying the decision and, if applicable, the next steps to follow.
