On April 3, the 5th edition of the Rio Tinto Alcan Benefit Event for the Montreal Canadiens Children’s Foundation was held at The Citadelle, next to Rio Tinto Alcan’s World Headquarters. This year’s the much-awaited event featured a silent and live auction, a mystery puck sale and a stellar performance from the talented duo of Marie-Ève Janvier and Jean-François Breau. Montreal Canadiens’ family members on hand to enjoy the performance along with several members of the Montreal business community were Geoff Molson, Kevin Gilmore, Pierre Boivin, Henri Richard, Guy Lafleur, Réjean Houle, Mario Tremblay, Guy Carbonneau, Mathieu Dandenault, Yvon Lambert, Brian Gionta, Josh Gorges and David Desharnais.
This year, Rio Tinto Alcan’s initiative raised $315,000 bringing the company’s five-year contribution to the Foundation to a total of $1.2 million. The Foundation wishes to thank Rio Tinto Alcan and its CEO, Mrs. Jacynthe Côté, for their determination and dedication to make this event a striking success and for their commitment towards children in need.
