Every year in March, the Montreal Canadiens Children’s Foundation holds its Radio-Telethon in partnership with broadcasters RDS, TSN Radio 690 and 98.5 FM. This event, organized in collaboration with Bell and Desjardins, helps support programs that promote a healthy and physically active lifestyle with disadvantaged children all over the province of Quebec.
Personalities to serve the cause
In the late afternoon, studio hosts from RDS and both radio stations invite listeners to make a pledge to the Montreal Canadiens Children’s Foundation. Members of the Montreal Canadiens family and representatives of various organizations that benefited from the Foundation’s support over the years. At the Bell Centre, Alumni Canadiens members, the player’s spouses as well as renowned personalities work the phone lines to receive pledges from the general public until the end of the Canadiens game.
The fifth edition of the Radio-Telethon in March 2015 helped raise more than $120,000. The sixth edition will be on March 10, 2016 when the Montreal Canadiens will be hosting the Buffalo Sabres at the Bell Centre.
