14 years of support
For the last 14 years, Desjardins Securities is a first-rate partner of the Montreal Canadiens Children’s Foundation. During the 2015-16 season, several fundraising initiatives have helped to mobilize the great family of Desjardins Securities, including the commission day, where the company investment consellors are encouraged to donate all their commissions of the day to the Foundation. The second edition of Desjardins Securities golf tournament, the Desjardins Private Management golf tournament, an oyster party and jeans days have also helped to break the record for the largest amount raised by Desjardins Scurities: $508,707.62. Their generosity and dedication play a definitive role in allowing the Foundation to attain its objectives. Over the past 14 years, more than $4.5 million has been donated to the Foundation by Desjardins Securities.
Canadian Tire Jumpstart Charities
The Foundation created a five-year partnership with Canadian Tire and Canadian Tire Jumpstart Charities. From the beginning of the 2014-15 season, Canadian Tire and Canadian Tire Jumpstart Charities are the presenters of the BLEU BLANC BOUGE Program, which represents a financial commitment of $230,000 to help youth be more active.
For the last nine years, Rio Tinto has been organizing a fundraising event to benefit the Montreal Canadiens Children’s Foundation. Held in the heritage building The Citadel, this evening always charms and entertains many guests. During the event, there is a silent auction, a live auction, a sale of mystery items, and a performance of a renowned artist. Several members of the Canadiens organization are on hand, from current players to Canadiens Alumni as well as members of management team.
So far, more than 2.1 million dollars has been raised through this benefit event. The Foundation wishes to thank Rio Tinto for their commitment and dedication to making this event a success and for their dedication to help children in need. This association with Rio Tinto, a prestigious corporate partner, shows the interest of the Quebec business community towards the work of the Foundation.
A perfect match!
The Face à face des célébrités Ford powered by CKOI takes place at the Bell Centre at the beginning of the spring season. Two teams formed of Quebec personalities from different backgrounds compete in a “friendly” hockey game. There are generally more than 13,000 people present to watch the game between the red and the white teams. For the third consecutive year, Louis Morissette and Patrice Bélanger support this project as team captains and spokespeople of the event. Ford dealers throughout Quebec and Ford Canada also contribute generously to the event. Also, CKOI is a great partner for animation and promotion before and during the game, as well as for the recruitment of personalities with heart and enthusiasm.
A healthy wrap-up
Emballages Marcan offers the public the opportunity to contribute to the well-being of children by purchasing fruits and vegetables such as oranges and onion varieties. For each packaged item sold in stores, 5¢ is donated to the Foundation. Customers who make a purchase are eligible to participate in a contest to win Canadiens prizes. With the success of this initiative, over $500,000 has been raised and donated by Emballages Marcan to the Foundation over the past nine years.
