Thanks to the generous contribution of the Gabriel Rossy Commemorative Foundation, the Montreal Canadiens Children’s Foundation purchased 1,000 passes for the World Hockey Championship being held simultaneously in Quebec City and Halifax in May 2008. The passes were given to sick and underprivileged children from the Quebec City area. The children are patronized by the following non-profit organizations: Cité Joie, la Foundation Sourdine, le Patro Charlesbourg, le Patro Laval, la Fondation des fêtes d’enfants Dédé and the St-Marc-des-Carrières High School.
On behalf of all the children, we wish to thank Gabriel Rossy Commemorative Foundation for their generous support.
Gabriel Rossy who tragically lost his life on August 1, 2006, touched everyone who had the privilege of meeting him with his exuberance, his spirit of generosity and his endearing nature. He had a passion for camping as well as hockey and took pride in his role of big brother for his younger sibling.
In memory of Gabriel, the Gabriel Rossy Commemorative Foundation was established by a group of devoted parents and friends who dedicate their resources to provide underprivileged children with the same joie de vivre that Gabriel was known for.
