Tricolore au féminin

Nowhere was the city more hockey than at the Bell Centre on April 8 for the second edition of the Tricolore au féminin. Over 1,000 enthusiastic supporters showed up for the much-awaited annual event featuring the “gals” of the Bell Centre playing on the Pink and the Blue teams. There was also talent behind the bench with Canadiens’ President Pierre Boivin and Quebec scout Michel Boucher coaching the Pink Team while the Blue Team was coached by Gillett Entertainment Group Vice President Jacques Aubé and CKAC hockey color analyst Danny Dubé. The star-studded event also featured the talented Marilou who sang the national anthems while team mascot Youppi! mingled with the crowd distributing cheers and hugs . Canadiens’ General Manager Bob Gainey was also on hand for the ceremonial puck drop. The event raised $10,000 for the Montreal Canadiens Children’s Foundation and will benefit several charities and communities in June 2008.
